Ms. Gan is the second big hire Nuzuna announced this week. Just a few days ago, the company announced that Chris Guaty has joined the executive team to manage the expansion of Nuzuna franchise locations.

Founder and CEO Charles Laverty called the hire crucial to the ongoing company expansion. “Our source of innovation comes from technology plus talent. Ms. Gan most recently served mortgage provider HMAC, helping the mortgage lender staff nearly two dozen locations, improve training and managing compliance programs. Ms. Gan also worked for private equity firm 4G Ventures and played a critical role in their acquisition process including for multi-location franchisees.

Ms. Gan received degrees in both Communications and Accounting from De La Salle University. She also is certified in Human Resources by University of California in Irvine and the Society for Human Resource Management.

Nuzuna has expanded adding over seven locations since its founding in 2018. The company also has ten more locations that are planned, under development or are acquisitions in the process of switching over to the Nuzuna Fitness System in 2020. The company says it will more than double locations to 35 total before the end of 2021.

The company is best known for its electro muscular stimulation (EMS) technology. The company has embedded EMS into optional workout clothes that increase the muscular stimulation of any workout by up to 600%. Can you share 5 examples of how travel and hospitality companies will be adjusting over the next five years to the new ways that consumers like to travel?

I think they will be working heavily with influencers to highlight destinations and already are. I know it is going to change drastically after the pandemic and I am not sure what that will look like. I do think hospitality and travel companies will move more to app functionalities for the consumer. I have seen this very successful with four season’s resorts, where you can log into the app to check in and virtually chat with any hotel rep about your needs.

You are a “travel insider”. How would you describe your “perfect vacation experience”?

I would say it would start with from start to finish booking the trip, the communication prior and during the experience, and the memories made. My “perfect vacation experience” would be first class seats to a tropical island, with a concierge team waiting for us in our own private shuttle, to a 5 star resort that has 5 star restaurants and every on-site kid amenity you can think of. When you are traveling with young children, anything catered to make their life easier makes your life easier.

Can you share with our readers how have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Especially during these times I have enjoyed being able to use my platform to give back with giveaways every week that will benefit people right now. Can you share 3 things that most excite you about the “beauty-tech” industry?

Beauty tech is in its infancy as physics will solve many biomedical issues. Unfortunately, today the beauty industry does not have many physicists working in it. Physicians and chemists have reached their limit with their tools.
We are excited that the next generation of beauty tech tools will be mostly at-home products and the quality and efficacy of these products will improve substantially.
Integrating medical grade at-home devices with apps will allow better relationships with clinicians, stylists, friends and family. This will allow better management and outcomes.
Can you share 3 things that most concern you about the industry? If you had the ability to implement 3 ways to reform or improve the industry, what would you suggest?

It concerns me that unscrupulous medical and non-medical professionals promise clinical benefits with very little proof or evidence. This should be addressed but unfortunately money talks and gives some professionals too much authority.
Products with little or no benefits along with too many claims. The FTC/FDA and others are trying to combat this but they have a long way to go because professional sponsors are paid well to promote these types of products.
Consumers can be easily fooled and driven to medical procedures based on very little information. Sometimes these procedures and solutions are very risky. There should be strict guidelines for submitting procedures that have gone wrong to an independent organization as well as strict oversight.
You are an expert in science and technology. Can you share 5 ideas that anyone can use “to feel beautiful” with tech? (Please share a story or example for each.)

Always try to go to higher altitudes, the higher the altitude the better it is for your body. The body works much better when there is a lack of oxygen, it actually has to work harder. When it works harder it becomes more efficient. There are many clinical studies showing that lack of oxygen (hypoxia) actually increases well being and people living in high altitudes live longer than people living at sea level.
The human body was meant to keep moving, the more we move the less we age, always keep moving. Stagnation brings negative thoughts, one has to be fluid in life and moving helps with feeling beautiful.
The two absolute best exercises to keep young and beautiful are yoga and swimming. Yoga helps with oxygen and breathing, and swimming has no impact on joints. Both stimulate every muscle, tendon, ligament, tissue in every part of your body, including one’s face!
Everyone should be using a steam spa as this allows the body to open up as the skin, sometimes referred to as the third lung. Most people do not realize that the body’s lymph system needs to be flowing to allow proper blood flow.

CBD can dampen down or stimulate the immune system to provide optimal immune function depending on your inflammatory state.

CBD-Immune-System

If you have a compromised immune system, or you simply need a boost or immunity reduction, there is evidence to suggest that CBD is a promising option for optimal immune function.

Cannabidiol, or CBD, has been shown to both stimulate and dampen down the immune system. CBD acts on CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endo cannabinoid system in order to either promote or decrease immune function.

How Does CBD Affect the Immune System?

Anti-Inflammatory

CBD has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects on the immune system, meaning it dampens down the immune response (1). The immune system is responsible for keeping us healthy and fighting off invading pathogens. Inflammation is normal and highly functioning in the body in response to threats (2).

This helps to block invading pathogens and fight potential illnesses, keeping us healthy. In some cases, though, we need to reduce immune function, particularly in people who live with chronic immune conditions that cause their immune system to be overactive, damaging their body. This includes diabetes, arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease, among others. As such, it is also important to have substances that can produce anti-inflammatory responses.

CBD acts on two different cannabinoid receptors in the body, CB1 and CB2. CB2 is known to directly impact the immune response by regulating proliferation, development and migration of a wide range of cells, modulating the function of immune cells (3). These receptors can be activated by naturally occurring cannabinoids in the body. When CBD enters the body, it can bind to CB2 receptors and block them, blocking these pathways, leading to a decrease in overall immune function.

As well as blocking the CB2 receptors, the presence of CBD in the body also impacts the levels of cytokines. Cytokines are small molecules released by immune cells that help to activate and deactivate the immune system. Some evidence has shown that CBD interferes with the release of cytokines, indicating they could disrupt the initiation of the immune system before it even gets started (4).

Evidence shows CBD affects the immune system in a variety of ways, all of which appear to lead to the dampening down of the immune response. This is especially beneficial in autoimmune diseases, where the immune system is over regulated leading to pain, stiffness, and damage to multiple internal organs.

Pro-Inflammatory

Interestingly, CBD has also been shown to stimulate the immune system. As mentioned, CBD can act on two cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2. It is currently thought that activation of CB1 receptors can lead to the up regulation of the immune system. This is important for people with a weak immune system (5). Individuals with inadequate immune systems are prone to infection due to the body being unable to fight off pathogens. A high functioning immune system is also important in people with conditions such as cancer, where the immune system is not strong enough to prevent tumor growth and spread. CBD has therefore proven to be beneficial in boosting the immune system as well as dampening it down.

Anti-Inflammatory

CBD has been shown to aid in a number of health conditions, particularly autoimmune conditions. Autoimmune diseases are characterized by over activation of the immune system, leading to the body attacking its own healthy cells. This long-term stimulation of the immune system can lead to damage of healthy cells and even internal organs. There are a wide range of autoimmune conditions that have been shown to benefit from the anti-inflammatory properties of CBD.

Arthritis

One of the most common autoimmune diseases is rheumatoid arthritis. This is characterized by joint pain and decreased motility to the immune system attacking the cells in the joints. Recent studies have indicated that CBD products can improve rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. CBD has demonstrated the potential to provide anti arthritic properties (6).

Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune condition where the body starts to attack the neurons in the central nervous system. A study looking at 137 people with multiple sclerosis found that CBD reduced multiple sclerosis symptoms (7). This is thought to be attributed to the anti-inflammatory effects of CBD, reducing the impact of the overstimulated immune system.

Pro-Inflammatory

CBD has also proven to be beneficial in a wide range of conditions as a pro-inflammatory supplement. Diseases that are characterized by an under functioning immune system have been shown to benefit from CBD. One particular example of this is in patients with cancer.

Cancer

Cancer is characterized by a weakened overall immune response, particularly if patients have also undergone chemotherapy. One of the problems with cancer development is that the body does not attack and kill cancer cells, leading to the development of tumors that can spread throughout the body.

Studies have shown high-dose CBD can induce death and decrease proliferation of cancer cells (8). This indicates CBD could help to boost the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells. Another study also found that CBD reduced tumor growth in patients with cancer (9). The pro inflammatory properties of CBD therefore have the potential to help in cancer treatment and management in the future.

Kent Training Provider Offers Salons Helping Hand After Lockdown

Kent based hair, nails and beauty training provider is offering support for hair and beauty salon owners to get back up and running again after lockdown.

FOLKESTONE, KENT, UNITED KINGDOM, July 6, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — In the past few weeks TNB have been busy supporting salon business owners through the lockdown crisis and have put plans in place to help them thrive when restrictions are lifted.

“We have received a lot of questions from salon owners about how to access support and keep their businesses afloat during the Coronavirus crisis” – Sarah Abel, founder of TNB Skills Training explains.
TNB works closely with salons – providing and supporting trainees and apprentices as well as offering their employees salon management and business courses.

To keep supporting salons during this time the team at TNB created a free online support community and have already advised over 500 members how to access government funds and plan their best way forward.

“One of the first things we realised is that when we reopen, our salons are going to be extremely busy after our clients have gone weeks without haircuts, colours or waxing, grown out nail extensions and lashes, as well as needing that feel good factor after weeks of lockdown” Sarah continued.

Salons got a glimpse of what might be expected after Denmark and Germany lifted their restrictions. Hairdressers reported being booked up completely, but also explained the new efforts required to stay open such as sanitizing and cleaning between clients and providing additional PPE to both stylists and clients.

“Some salons have already lost staff and will have gaps they need to fill when they can finally open again” explains Sarah.

TNB have been providing online training for students during the lockdown and have trainees ready to place into salons when restrictions ease.

Whilst in lockdown, TNB students have been taught essential skills such as reception and booking services, marketing to help maintain a clientele and simple profit-making services such as Bouncy Blow Dry, Gel Colour and Eyelash Extensions to help bring in much needed revenue.

TNB is providing all employers 16 weeks free access to TNB’s salon business mentoring programme which includes access to FREE training for nails, beauty, hair, customer service and team leading/management for your other employees.

Trainees are funded through the Education & Skills Funding Agency at no cost to the salon, they are expected to work for 172 hours over a maximum of 17 weeks. TNB is currently interviewing students for suitability over Zoom, Skype and Face-Time.

SANTA BARBARA, CA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, July 3, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Cleveland Clinic’s Chair of its Obstetrics and Gynecology & Women’s Health Institute, Dr. Beri Ridgeway, in a 2019 presentation stated mid-urethral synthetic polypropylene slings are the “definite standard of care” after being cautioned by an anonymous note to “think very carefully about what I’d be talking about during my presentation on synthetics” and that note related to the “deep controversy over the use of transvaginal synthetic mesh products… linked to a long list of serious adverse effects.”
